Red Bull New Zealand’s first ever involvement with designing and hosting a multisport/adventure race happened last weekend (24th/25th) in Wanaka.

I’m very happy to say that Marcel Hagener and I, racing for Team Tineli (tineli.co.nz), won the elite mixed category race

with a final finishing time of 13 hours and 52 minutes. This gave us more than six minutes overall lead on second place getters – the legendary duo of Richard & Elina Ussher with 13:59:13 and third went to Jackie and Mimi Boisett of the Red Bull France team with 15:02:26.

I have a huge respect for all the competitors who competed in, and completed, this gruelling two day journey. What a weekend ehhhhh…. pretty amazing really….the scenery, the elements of the water, cold, wind, mountains, it was worth every single minute of pain.

It was also a huge honour to race at home and basically have such a cool event right on my front door step, I think I’m very lucky :-).
